Nigeria’s president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has tasked Nigeria’s Top 100 CEOs to train and employ more Nigerians.
President Jonathan made this call on Tuesday, 2nd December, 2014 at the Villa Banquet Hall during the dinner to celebrate Nigeria’s Top 100 CEOs.
It should be recalled that Nigeria released a list of their top 100 companies, including Dangote, Arik Air, Nigerian Breweries, First Bank and many more.
During his speech to the gathered CEOs and Chairmen from Nigeria’s most successful companies, President Jonathan asserted that Nigeria has maintained her place of honour in the world and challenged them to invest more for Nigerians:
“Over the past few years, Nigeria has reinforced its position as the leading economy in Africa, and one of the leading investment destinations in the world,” stated President Jonathan.
“I challenge you to employ and train more Nigerians, and engage our youths in technical skills and character development. I challenge you to invest in the future of this great country,” said President Jonathan.
“My vision is to have an economy that works for all Nigerians, not just a few, and to become one of the Top 10 most competitive economies in the world. The role of the Top 100 in achieving this vision cannot be underestimated.”
